Content Sites
These are websites created with lots of useful unique content that visitors will want to come back to again and again. The unique content is picked up over time in google search results - visitors stumble across the website, sign up for free reports or to be on a mailing list and/or then click on carefully placed adds. Mailing lists are great as you can send promotions and updates to potential customers in the future - even if they dont buy on the day they may in the future.

This is where you put an affiliate link on your website or in an email, a visitor clicks on it and is sent directly to the Merchants website. By the use of tracking ID in your affiliate link you will then earn commission if a purchase is made.

One of the things we have discovered over time is that it is not necessarily best to pick the highest paying commissions. For a long time we missed out on potential sales because 1% sounded too low. However if the 1% offered is by a well known brand that advertises on TV you are more likely to get people clicking.

Text Adds or Banner Adds ?

Both can be very effective. A well put together text link can be more effective than a flashing banner next to it. On other occassions you will find that a well known brand on a banner is likely to be clicked on. It really comes down to experimenting with both and working out which one gets more clicks on a particular page or website.

Sometimes you are limited in the size of the banners available or the banner is not well put together. You are then better off making up a text add.
